1. Who we are
Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is a UK construction recruitment business. We use personal information to provide recruitment services to candidates and client organisations. For our own recruitment database, sourcing and relationship management activities, we generally act as a data controller. Where we act only on a client’s instructions, our role may differ.

2. Who this notice covers
This notice applies to jobseekers, prospective candidates, referees, client contacts, prospective client contacts and people who contact us or use our website. Separate employee privacy information may apply to our own staff.
3. Information we collect
Candidates: name, contact details, location, CV, work history, qualifications, employment preferences, remuneration expectations, availability, communications, interview feedback and placement records. Where necessary and lawful, we may collect right-to-work evidence, references and limited sensitive information relevant to recruitment.
Clients and prospects: names, business contact details, roles, recruitment needs, correspondence, meetings, feedback and contractual records.
Website visitors: information submitted via forms or email, and technical or cookie information where our website collects it. On this website that means:
- Contact form – your name, email address, phone number, subject and message. Messages are emailed to us and also saved in our website’s database, which only logged-in website administrators can access.
- Job application form – your name, email address, phone number, CV, an optional cover note and, only if you choose to, your agreement to us keeping your details on file for future roles.
- Analytics – how the site is used (for example pages visited, device and browser type and approximate location), collected through Google Analytics cookies where you have agreed to them.
4. Where information comes from
We obtain information directly from you, through CV submissions and enquiries, professional platforms such as LinkedIn, recruitment databases and job boards, referrals, clients and publicly available professional sources. If we receive information from another source, we provide privacy information within the period required by law, subject to applicable exceptions.
5. Why we use information and our lawful bases
We use candidate information to identify suitable opportunities, discuss vacancies, assess suitability, arrange introductions and interviews, manage offers and placements, and maintain appropriate recruitment relationships. We use client contact information to understand hiring needs, communicate about recruitment services, manage assignments and maintain business relationships.
Our lawful bases may include legitimate interests (relevant recruitment sourcing and business relationship management, following an assessment of individual rights), steps requested before entering into a contract or contractual necessity where applicable, and compliance with legal obligations. Where consent is required for a specific activity, we request it separately. We do not treat a candidate’s permission to send a CV as blanket consent for all processing.
Job applications through this website. We use the details you submit on a job application to process that application and to contact you about the role. We only keep your details on file to contact you about future roles if you tick the separate, optional box on the application form, and you can withdraw that at any time.
6. Sharing information
We may share relevant candidate information with prospective employers or hiring organisations when the candidate has authorised the introduction. We may share information with recruitment support providers, our authorised consultants, CRM and IT suppliers, professional advisers and authorities where required. Client contacts may be shared with candidates where necessary to arrange recruitment activity. We do not sell personal information.
Our recruitment database and CRM is GIIG HIRE, provided by Giig Ltd, which acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. Our candidate and client records in GIIG HIRE are hosted on servers in London, UK. We also use Microsoft Outlook and OneDrive. Source Mate Ltd (company number 14902864, registered in England and Wales) provides recruitment support and sourcing services and may access candidate records on our behalf, only for agreed recruitment purposes and on our instructions. Enginova Recruitment Ltd may access our CRM in connection with authorised recruitment services.
Our website is hosted by Verpex, and uses Google Analytics (if you accept analytics cookies) and Google Fonts, which means Google receives limited technical information, such as your IP address, when your browser loads them.
7. International access
Personnel working for Source Mate access recruitment information from Pakistan. This may involve an international transfer under UK data protection law, and Pakistan is not covered by UK adequacy regulations. We will assess and implement the appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards where required, and explain how a copy can be obtained.
The candidate and client records held in GIIG HIRE stay in the UK (London). Giig uses a small number of sub-processors for limited tasks, such as payment processing, product analytics and address look-up, which may involve processing in the EU or, in limited cases, outside the UK and EU, under recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Other supplier international processing must also be checked.
8. How long we keep information
We retain personal information only as long as needed for recruitment, legitimate business purposes and legal requirements. Inactive candidate records are reviewed after 24 months without meaningful engagement, with deletion or justified continued retention determined at review. Placement, accounting and contractual records may be retained longer where justified by legal obligations or potential claims. Client contact records are reviewed when relationships end or information becomes outdated.
Job applications submitted through our website are automatically deleted after 4 weeks, unless you tick the optional box asking us to keep your details on file for future roles. If you do, we keep them and review them as described above.
If a record is deleted from our recruitment system (GIIG HIRE), it may remain in our supplier’s backups for around 12 months until they are overwritten.
9. Your rights
Subject to legal conditions and exceptions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You have a particular right to object to direct marketing at any time. Contact rachel@lemondrizzlerecruitment.com to make a request. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Security and automated decisions
We use appropriate access controls and organisational measures to protect information. Access is limited to those with a business need. CVs uploaded through our website are stored in a private area that is not publicly accessible. We do not intend to make decisions about candidates solely through automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
11. Website cookies
Our website shows a cookie banner so you can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. We use:
- Essential cookies – to make the site work and to remember your cookie choice.
- Analytics cookies – Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site. These are only set if you accept them.
- Google Fonts – loaded from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
Full details of the cookies we use, their purposes and how long they last are in our Cookie Policy. Where legally required, we obtain consent before using non-essential cookies.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice to reflect changes in our services, suppliers or legal requirements. The current version will be available on our website.
